We’ve had an amazing time on this trip to Colombia, which continued in Cartagena. We also had incredible weather despite the rainy forecast. We will leave Cartagena with love in our hearts, but we had mixed reviews about the experience. Let’s start with the things we loved:
Medellín is a beautiful city with gorgeous views and lots of interesting things to explore. We spent two full days wandering the city, and despite continuous rain being in the forecast, we had 48 nearly-rain-free hours to get to know Medellín. Here are our highlights.

Our 13 course dinner tonight at Maido in Lima was one of the best meals of my life. The flavors were phenomenal and complex without being over the top. My new tour started in Buenos Aries. Such a great city, yet I didn’t see much of it. I think sometimes when you have a lot of time somewhere, you tend to waste more of it. I suppose I will have to visit Buenos Aries again someday! After Buenos Aries, we spent two days exploring Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil….
Traveling on the northern edge of Patagonia was absolutely stunning. The views will take your breath away, and the fresh, crisp air will restore it. No words or pictures can adequately describe this experience, and it has enticed me to one day explore the southern parts of the region.
