West End has the best variety of food and nightlife on Roatan island. You can walk from one end to the other in about 15 minutes, passing everything from waterfront grills and street food stalls to upscale fusion restaurants. Most places are casual, with open-air seating and friendly service, which creates the perfect beach vibe. Here are our favorite spots we go back to every time.
Mila del Mar at the Beach House
Mila del Mar is our favorite dinner spot in West End, hands down. Fresh seafood, creative cocktails, and a view of Half Moon Bay that’s perfect at sunset. Located in The Beach House boutique hotel near the circle and taxi stand at Half Moon Bay, it’s an easy stop whether you’re staying nearby or just visiting for dinner. We dined here every day on one trip and always make a stop when we’re in town. We enjoy chatting with the staff each year, many of whom are there every time.
Good for: Romantic dinners, seafood, upscale dining.
Tip: The restaurant is very small, on the second floor of the hotel. Get a table at sunset for golden views.

Sundowners Beach Bar
Sundowners is our go-to hangout for sunset drinks and a casual meal. The menu has burgers, wraps, and cold beers in a laid-back atmosphere that’s equal parts expats and visitors. We first visited this spot years ago with our friend who was a diver instructor on the island, and we keep coming back for the fun vibe.
Good for: Sunset drinks, casual bites, social vibe.
Tip: Bring cash or be ready to pay via Venmo.

The Argentinian Grill
We love both locations: the one here in West End and the one in West Bay. The West End Argentinian Grill has tables outside overlooking the water as well as cozy indoor dining options for when it’s raining or too buggy. The steak, lobster, and whole fresh fish are all standouts, and the portions are generous, so come hungry and don’t over order.
Good for: Steak, seafood, special dinners.
Tip: Try the surf-and-turf for the best of both worlds.

Thai Blue Elephant
You may be surprised to find authentic Thai food in the Caribbean, but Thai Blue Elephant is your spot. The curries, shrimp dishes, stir-fries, and noodles are a great change-up from the usual beach fare (even though we love that too). The atmosphere is so relaxing and elegant on the water with gorgeous views. We like to come just after sunset when it’s still golden but a bit cooler.
Good for: Thai-food lovers, vegetarian options.
Tip: The Panang curry is our go-to order.

Anthony’s Chicken
Anthony’s Chicken is affordable and delicious. It’s a local favorite for grilled chicken, plantains, and rice and beans. It’s perfect for a no-frills meal after a day of diving or chilling at the beach.
Good for: Budget-friendly, fast service.
Tip: Get their jerk chicken specialty.

Crazy Bean Café
We go to the Crazy Bean as our traditional last lunch before heading to the airport at the end of our trip. They offer fresh sandwiches, salads, and smoothies in a relaxed café. It’s a great spot to grab a morning coffee or fuel up before your flight.
Good for: Breakfast, lunch, smoothies, and travel-day meals.
Tip: Great air conditioning to cool down before a hot afternoon departure.

Gas Station Baleadas
Yep, you read that right. We asked many locals, and they all said the baleadas at the PetroSun are the best in town. A baleada is a traditional Honduran tortilla dish filled with refried beans, sauce, and cheese. We got one with eggs and one with chicken. They’re simple, cheap, and perfect for breakfast or lunch. And everyone was right, the PetroSun baleadas were better than anything else in town.
Good for: Quick, authentic, budget eats.
Tip: Go early in the morning for the freshest tortillas.

Costa Dulce
Costa Dulce is located right at Half Moon Bay. This little gelato shop is the perfect stop to unwind after dinner. We love grabbing a cup or cone and walking out back to sit on the swing while we enjoy it.
Good for: Dessert, evening strolls.
Tip: Try the coconut gelato if it’s on the menu.
