Is Riga’s Radisson Blu Latvija Conference and Spa Hotel Worth It?
If you’re planning a trip to Riga and wondering where to stay, we found a hotel with a central location, walkable access to the city’s top attractions, a top-rated spa, and one of the best rooftop bars in town. The Radisson Blu Latvija Conference and Spa Hotel should definitely be on your radar, but while we’d definitely stay here again, it wasn’t perfect. Here’s our honest review with the pros and cons from our recent visit to Latvia’s capital.
📝 First a Note
There are several Radisson properties in Riga. We’re talking about the Radisson Blu Latvija Conference and Spa Hotel. So, make sure you find the right one in your research. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, and it was important to have a spa and a rooftop restaurant for ambiance. This place checked the boxes.

🧖♀️ ESPA Riga Spa
We booked here mainly for the ESPA Riga spa, and it didn’t disappoint. Treatments were top-notch, with skilled therapists and a calming, modern environment. We opted for couples massages, which were included a cocktail at the Sky Bar in the package. The spa itself has multiple relaxation areas and saunas and a pool, making it easy to spend a good part of your day there when combined with a treatment package. The spa offers other facilities on lower floors with a day pass.
If you have a long layover, it’s a rainy day, or you just need a break between sightseeing stops, this is the place to unwind. The whole experience felt unhurried and relaxing.

🍸 Sky Bar
Sky Bar, located on the 26th floor, is another highlight. It’s a swanky spot with floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views of the city. We enjoyed our included cocktail from the spa package and then ordered a glass of bubbly for only €9 — which is surprisingly affordable for the setting. It’s a great option whether you’re staying in the hotel or just visiting for drinks and the view.
We went just before sunset and lucked out with clear skies and golden-hour light over the rooftops. It’s worth timing your visit if you can.

🛏️ Rooms
Rooms are comfortable, and some have nice views, but they were fairly basic in design. We were there for the amenities and the location, which made up for the lack of luxury finishes. But it was quite a bit more expensive than some other options nearby. The hotel sits just outside the Old Town and is a short walk to Riga’s main attractions, shops, and restaurants.

🚶♀️ Walkability
We walked everywhere during our stay. The hotel’s location just outside the Old Town made it easy to explore on foot. We visited museums, public parks, restaurants, and historical sites all without needing a taxi or public transit. The Art Nouveau district, Freedom Monument, and central market are also within a reasonable walk or a short Uber or Bolt ride.
Riga is a great city for walking, and staying here meant we could experience more without worrying about transportation.

📉 The Down Sides of This Hotel
Even though we enjoyed our stay, there were a few things that we didn’t love:
- ⚠️ Elevators can be a bit slow, especially during peak conference times, but they move people efficiently enough.
- ⚠️ The hotel often hosts large conferences, which means the lobby, breakfast area, and elevators can feel very crowded.
- ⚠️ While the rooms are well-kept, they don’t have the same wow factor as the spa or Sky Bar. They could use an update, especially for the price.

Our Verdict
🧳 If you’re looking for a base that combines comfort, a prime location, a great spa, and one of the best skyline views in Riga, the Radisson Blu Latvija Conference and Spa Hotel fits the bill. The mix of wellness, dinning, and walkability makes it easy to enjoy the city while getting in a little rest and relaxation. However, if you’re not there for the spa and Sky Bar, we might suggest staying somewhere less expensive in the heart of Old Town.
We would definitely stay here again, but next time we’ll be checking out the Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town. We walked by and it looked modern and new, and was in a perfect location by the main square.
