Oh my, Thailand is hot. This is the warmest time of year, and the best way I can describe it is if you imagine Las Vegas heat coupled with Miami humidity. Yesterday morning we checked out of the hotel early, did some site seeing in the unbelievable heat in Bangkok, then took a 19 hour journey via overnight train to Chiang Mai. The shower I took this morning definitely ranks in my top 5 showers ever!

Despite the heat, I absolutely love Thailand. I can honestly say now that Southern California Thai food is really close to authentic. The amazing cuisine here makes up for the culinary difficulties I encountered in China. Tonight, we took a cooking class and made curry, pad thai, and tom yum soup for dinner. Delish! Well, I burned my pad thai, but everything else was really good -and it’s probably better that I couldn’t eat the pad thai, because it’s all quickly turning into THIGH food!
